Located on a narrow block with ocean views to the east this house responds to the qualities specific to the place, the essential philosophy being to create a house reminiscent of the local beach house. The house is entered from the beach road and by means of a rear laneway for vehicular access. As a permanent residence for large family with five children, privacy and function is defined through the planning.

The children are located on the ground floor, living areas are on the first floor and the master bedroom on the second floor. The living area is raised to the first floor to view the ocean over the fore dune and road below. Generous outdoor decks allow the inhabitants to seek view and whilst capturing the cool sea breezes.
