After graduating from the University of Queensland, Paul spent 10 years working in commercial architectural firms, including stints in London & California. He established Paul Uhlmann Architects on the Gold Coast in 1997 to focus on residential design.

Over the next twenty plus years, Paul Uhlmann Architects has established a reputation for the design of exceptional residential buildings along the east Australian coastline.

Paul works directly and closely with clients on each project, with his personalised approach tailored to each individual client and brief. During his career, Paul has trained and mentored an array of architecture students and Graduates, and has been involved in tutoring at the local universities.

In 2019, Paul’s work in architecture was recognised by the Australian Institute of Architects, admitting him as a Life Fellow of the AIA.

In his spare time, Paul enjoys anything on the water; surfing, sailing, fishing and canoeing on the Hinze Dam. Over the past few years, Paul has found a new passion in restoring heritage buildings in the Northern Tablelands of NSW.
